Coaching sessions take place in the Chapman Learning Commons - Irving K Barber Learning Center, Level 3.
Coaching will resume in October 2013.
Are you taking Economics?
Come visit us at the Coaches Corner Pavilion at Irving K. Barber Learning Centre to get subject-specific coaching in the areas you find most challenging. Learn first-hand what study techniques work from an experienced and highly accomplished Econ student, and achieve maximum success in your courses!
Coaches are different from a tutor because rather than help you with specific course material, a coach helps you develop your “soft” skills; things like studying, note-taking techniques and exam preparation. The coach also works to find the resources and people on campus to help you further. For example, if you’re having trouble with writing, a coach may help you identify where your problem areas are and might connect you with the Writing Centre. The coaches also highlight the student toolkits, which are collections of tried and tested student tips.
Does the peer academic coaching encompass Chinese by any chance? I am taking an intensive mandarin course and finding it hard to keep up, and was wondering if any coaching was offered.
Regards,
Keshav
The peer academic coaching unfortunately does not encompass either Chinese or Mandarin. The UBC Chinese language course site has the following resource link for those looking for support: http://www.chinese.arts.ubc.ca/resource.htm

Hi Keshav,
The peer academic coaching unfortunately does not encompass either Chinese or Mandarin. The UBC Chinese language course site has the following resource link for those looking for support: http://www.chinese.arts.ubc.ca/resource.htm
If you are looking for a tutor, another great option is to check the AMS Tutoring registry, a collection of private tutors that you can choose to hire: http://tutoring.ams.ubc.ca/TutorRegistry/tutor_registry.aspx
Finally, a great resource is your professor or your TA – they might have some additional resources for you to try.
Best,
Teri

Hello,
Thank you for your comment. The best people to ask about your application and admission process are the staff in the Faculty that you are applying to.
To reach the Faculty of Science, the best contact point for you would be International Science Student Inquiries: https://www.directory.ubc.ca/index.cfm?page=personDetail&row=1000004116
To reach the Faculty of Applied Science (Engineering), the best contact point for you would be the International Students resources page: http://engineering.ubc.ca/eng/students/prospective-students/international-students
If these contacts aren’t what you were looking for, please do let me know. I can be reached at teri.grant@ubc.ca

One is english issue and the other is that I don’t know the way of studying in this country.
For these reasons, I hope to get some help. Can you e-mail me with information of possible help and the fee?
