    Hello,

While the Learning Commons does not host law tutoring, you might want to try the UBC Faculty of Law Academic Success Program, the details of which can be found here: http://www.law.ubc.ca/current/academic_success.html

I hope that helps, please do let me know if you have any other questions.

    Hi,
I’m an arts student taking astro 310 and I have been trying to find a tutor for Astronomy?? Are there tutors for astronomy in the learning common?
    Thanks,
    Cassie

  8. Nick Thornton

    Hi Cassie,

While there are no specific Astronomy tutors available in the Learning Commons, I can recommend a few resources for your ASTR 310 class. Firstly, AMS Tutoring, which is offered in the Learning Commons, can offer help with physics and math- they are course specific but if you come with some problems or concepts that are unclear, they may be able to help you out.

Additionally, I would check in with your professor’s (or TA’s) office hours with some specific questions or problems. Professors are often able to recommend additional resources or clarify concepts. And lastly, try the physics tutorials on Khan Academy- which provide video tutorials that break down complicated physics concepts into easy to understand points.

    I hope this helps!

    Hi,
I really need some help with my GEOB 102 lab work, is there anybody who tutors in GEOB through the commons? If there is, where can I find the help?
    Thankyou!
    Natalie P.

    Hi Natalie,

GEOB tutoring is not currently available through AMS Tutoring. I would suggest getting in touch with your professor and or TA to clarify points that you are struggling with and to also see if there is any tutoring or learning services offered through the department.

    Good Luck!
