Why Twitter?

Why not?! No seriously, Twitter is a quick and easy (and mobile) way to find like-minded people at UBC. Not only do you get to keep up on news, events and contests, you get to join a community of academics who care about the same things you do. Once you get started, it’s relatively easy to find people who are initiating clubs, events and dialogue around the issues YOU care about.

A Quick Note on Social Media Etiquette

Social media is great but don’t forget that what you do and say online DOES follow you around. People get hired from twitter and other social media sites so think before you tweet. If you have a network of colleagues and professors, keep the personal stories of Saturday night’s exploits where they belong: in your private life.
